A leading global technology solutions provider approached Nebula Global Services for support with a specialist wireless engagement for one of its major international customers — a globally recognised British technology and engineering company known for its innovative consumer products.
Following an Access Point refresh at the end customer’s facility in Johor, Malaysia, the partner needed to complete a comprehensive post-deployment wireless validation survey.
The requirement went beyond simply providing an engineer onsite. The partner needed an experienced wireless specialist equipped with Ekahau survey technology who could work within its established wireless design and validation methodology.
Using a pre-built Ekahau project supplied by the partner, the engineer was required to conduct a detailed walkthrough of the facility, capturing both passive RF data and active connectivity and throughput data against the customer’s nominated wireless network.
The engagement presented several challenges:
With the end customer looking to validate its newly refreshed wireless environment quickly, the partner needed a trusted global services provider capable of mobilising specialist expertise without compromising technical quality or the customer experience.
Nebula rapidly identified and secured an experienced wireless engineer within the region with the specialist Ekahau capabilities required to deliver the engagement.
Working closely with the partner’s APAC services team, Nebula’s Project Management Office coordinated the engagement from resource assignment and technical preparation through to onsite delivery and completion.
Ahead of the survey, Nebula provided the required engineer and device information, including wireless MAC addresses, enabling the end customer to complete its internal security, network-access and site-access processes.
A dedicated technical preparation session was also arranged between the partner’s wireless consultant and Nebula’s local engineer. This ensured the engineer understood the environment, floorplans, existing Access Point locations, Ekahau project and required survey methodology before arriving onsite.
Once onsite, Nebula’s engineer conducted the post-deployment wireless validation directly within the partner’s supplied Ekahau project.
The engagement included:
During the engagement, the physical environment proved more complex than originally anticipated.
Nebula maintained close communication with the partner throughout and proactively assessed contingency engineering availability should additional onsite time be required.
Despite the increased complexity, Nebula’s engineer successfully completed the required survey within the planned engagement.
Nebula successfully completed the post-deployment wireless validation survey and returned the completed Ekahau project containing the captured survey data to the partner for analysis.
Before leaving site, the Nebula engineer reviewed the completed activity with the partner’s wireless team to ensure the required information had been captured and the team was satisfied with the outcome.
The engagement enabled the partner to deliver specialist wireless Professional Services to a major global customer in Malaysia without needing to mobilise its own engineering resources internationally.
The outcome included:
The engagement demonstrated that the partner could confidently extend its specialist Professional Services capability into another international market while maintaining ownership of the technical methodology, customer relationship and overall outcome.
For technology partners supporting large multinational organisations, customer requirements increasingly extend beyond the countries in which they maintain their own engineering teams.
In this engagement, the partner needed to deliver a specialist wireless service for a globally recognised British technology and engineering company at a key facility in Malaysia.
Rather than deploying its own specialist internationally, the partner was able to use Nebula as an extension of its delivery capability.
Nebula provided the local engineering expertise, specialist tooling, global project coordination and delivery governance, while the partner retained ownership of the customer relationship and overall technical outcome.
This model allows channel partners to pursue international Professional Services opportunities with confidence — knowing they can access consistent specialist capability wherever their customers operate.
With engineering coverage spanning 170+ countries, Nebula enables its partners to turn global customer requirements into deliverable opportunities without the cost, complexity and delay of building dedicated local capability in every market.
The survey captured both RF coverage information and active network performance data, providing the partner with the information required to assess the customer's post-deployment wireless environment.
When the customer environment proved more complex than initially anticipated, Nebula maintained clear communication and prepared contingency options while the engineer continued delivery.
The engagement allowed the partner to offer specialist wireless services in a geography where it did not maintain its own dedicated engineering capability.
Nebula operated as an extension of the partner's delivery organisation. The partner retained ownership of its end-customer relationship while Nebula provided the specialist local capability required to deliver successfully.
Specialist engineering capability was sourced within the region, avoiding the time, cost and logistical complexity associated with flying the partner's own wireless resources internationally.
Nebula enabled its partner to deliver specialist Professional Services for a globally recognised British technology and engineering organisation at its facility in Malaysia.
