Ampito is a UK based business with significant and growing international presence. Ampito’s Glocal (Global / Local) model requires network and data centre equipment to be procured, pre-staged and delivered in country (i.e. outside the UK) as effectively as possible. Finding the right partners is critical, and Ampito had encountered some issues with previous partners that impaired their ability to deliver to the high standards they set themselves.
In theory, procuring and placing ready-to-go kit sounds simple enough. The reality though is that it requires close co-ordination with the client, including what versions of code they require on which pieces of kit, and audit trails to ensure Ampito know where kit is and is it in the correct location. Testing of the kit is also required to ensure the relevant licences have been applied, with sign offs from the client confirming they agree with the test results.
If any one of the multiple steps was executed incorrectly, or if Ampito didn’t have an accurate view of the overall process, they would not be able to deliver to their own high standards. Delivering successfully is crucial to retaining and growing their relationships with clients like this major international financial firm, and any challenges or issues heavily impact their ability to build customer loyalty.
Ampito’s primary objective was simple, and that was to fulfil their orders on time and to budget to meet the end client’s objectives. Nebula assisted Ampito by providing an in-country presence including local technical capability, inventory management, pre-staging, logistics and secure storage.
Ampito had been aware of Nebula for a while, working with them on previous projects. This specific project came from a conversation between Nebula and Ampito’s CEO and CSO. Ampito challenged Nebula to pitch a solution for this major project, and Nebula accepted the challenge.
The final agreement between both parties provided a flexible outcome-driven framework to meet the financial and time constraints requested by the end customer.
